Where is Boards By Jess based?
I’m based in the Kent coastal town of Deal!
Which areas do you work in?
I work across the whole of Kent within wedding and business signage work. Depending on the booking I also do work across further parts of the South East. Delivery charges do apply where applicable.
How much do you charge?
Prices do vary on whether the work is bespoke or from a set price list. If you would like to be sent some prices for signage, calligraphy and lettering please use my contact form to contact me.
Design
I have bought something I like you to work on/help with - how can we do this?
Yes! Lots of my bespoke work involves helping customers who have bought something and want some help with a lettering or calligraphy design. Please get in contact with me if you’d like me to help and we can organise design and collection/delivery depending on where you live.
Are your signage and chalkboard designs waterproof?
Yes! This is a common asked question however the pens I use for all chalkboard work is permanent. If your chalkboard is going to be outside I will treat the board with an extra acrylic seal to help protect the ink and hold the colour.
Can you work with my ideas, colour or theme preferences?
Yes, part of my work is design with creating something you have had in mind! When discussing ideas I can share previous designs for inspiration and discuss all your ideas to help create something perfect for you.
When do I need to give you information for design?
Design information does not need to be given to secure your booking and we can first secure your date of design. After that I will let you know what information I require and when by. Design work for your wedding or events needs to preferably be with me two weeks before your wedding day but I understand that last minute changes can be made especially within table plans.
Hire
What types of items do you have to hire for design?
My hire range includes a range of different shapes, sizes and materials from chalkboard, wood, acrylic and mirror. Please take a look at my Signage Hire Catalogue for my full list of items you can hire out for your chosen design.
How does your hire service work?
Signage hire is a service that may suit your special occasion and perfect for those who only want a sign temporarily. (Saves trying to find somewhere to store it after!) To go ahead and book signage to hire for design please contact me with what type of sign you’re looking to hire along with the date and venue. Leave the rest up to me - I’ll give you information on price, design and delivery/collection. A deposit is required to secure the items for your date. Please take a look out how it works for full information.
How long can I keep my hired items for?
Hire period will depend on the booking. If you are local and we have arranged delivery/collection for your special occasion I am happy for you to hold onto the sign for more than just the date of the occasion. If you have requested for me to deliver and pick up for signage to your venue, hire will be for the day. I am flexible with hire so please discuss with me if you have any queries!
Delivery and Collection
Can you deliver to my house or venue?
Yes! I can deliver in the Kent area but delivery charges will apply.
How can I collect my ordered items?
If you don't need delivery and are happy to collect, we can organise a collection from my workspace in Deal. We can organise a date and time.
How do I return the signage to you?
Same applies to the question above and we can organise together drop off date and time.
